Hans Peters founded the Inter-County Soccer League (ICSL) in the summer of 1960. Initially, six clubs made up the entire league and there was only 1 age group: U-13 boys. Girls’ soccer was introduced to league play in the spring of 1973 with a single 12-team division. Age brackets typically covered 2 age groups.
Since those early days, ICSL has grown to be the largest travel soccer league in Southeastern Pennsylvania. There are currently 87 active member clubs. Of the 6 founding clubs, 3 are still active: Hilltown, Lower Southampton and Levittown. They field over 870 teams playing in 3 divisions: Youth (U-8 to U-15), Juniors (U-16 to U-19) and Seniors (U-20 and up). League play is during Fall and Winter seasons.
The main territorial draw for ICSL is still Bucks and Montgomery counties, along with Northeast & Northwest Philadelphia. However, there is representation from as far as Berks, Chester, Lancaster and Delaware counties.
ICSL is affiliated with Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer Association (EPYSA), US Club Soccer (USCS) and Eastern Pennsylvania Soccer Association (EPSA).
The league office is located at 222 Bustleton Pike in Feasterville, PA and is open from 9 am to 4 pm, Monday through Friday.
